This happened! My little guy turned one week old on Christmas day. A fantastic gift.Baby Everett

    The bad:
We didn’t decorate our tree until 2 days before Christmas. That’s one of my favorite things to do during the holidays, but it just didn’t get done before the good (see above) arrived.

  • Thanks for sharing that article @mamaship! It’s been awhile since I’ve been on here, but wanted to stop in and say hi because I miss my mama tribe! We’ve been in Italy now for 15 months, and things are going great. My little guy moved up into a preschool (for ages 3-5), where he’ll be with the same class / teachers until we move back to the US and…[Read more]

  • P.S. if you’re looking for alternatives to running, when my guy was itty bitty I went to Be Well fitness for classes (they offered free childcare for some of them at the time, not sure if they still do….they’re on Bardstown Rd) and also did barre3 fitness classes online while my kiddo was napping. Just throwing out some other options that may…[Read more]

  • @mandyolivam I don’t know of any universal ones….ours came from the stroller manufacturer. What jogging stroller do you have?

  • This is a highly debated topic in many of the running groups I follow. Bottom line I think is to do what you’re comfortable with. Personally, at that age I used a car seat attachment on my running stroller and stuck with smooth roads (Cherokee park is perfect). I personally wouldn’t recommend putting a kiddo that young in the stroller alone for a…[Read more]

    Any updates @mamaship?

  • ksc090305 replied to the topic Sourdough in the forum Feeding your Family 2 years, 9 months ago

Can you give further details to feeding it daily? What does that entail exactly?

  • ksc090305 replied to the topic Sourdough in the forum Feeding your Family 2 years, 9 months ago

Yes!! @ksimmons you definitely want the starter from @mamaship. It’s delish. If you eat bread regularly baking at home is the way to go. And….if Andrew is willing to give up the secrets on how to make an awesome starter, I’m all ears. I need this in my Italian life!!! <3

  • Thanks for the shout out @ksimmons! We’ve been here for about 6 months now, and things are going well! The hardest part (for me) has been not working….it’s just not what I expected for this chapter of my life. I was having a really hard time with it, but finally gave myself a swift kick in the a$$ because wtf….this is a dream to live in…[Read more]

  • I’m *so* excited about our garden this year! Gardening is legit here in Italy….it’s common to use most of your outdoor space for it, which I love! We’re growing herbs, lettuce, celery, tomatoes, zucchini, beans and peppers. My favorite thing is this bean pole teepee, for my little guy to have a garden fort when we play outside!! Happy planting ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I did the same as you @ksimmons, dropped my middle name and use my maiden name as my middle now. I was born Katrina Aileen Smith, and now am Katrina Smith Critchley. Also, in Italy women don’t change their names when they get married…a few Italian friends thought it was crazy and way too much of a hassle that I changed my name at all – they were…[Read more]

  • I don’t have any advice to offer, as I’m in the middle of this struggle trying to figure out what works for me! But sending so much love and light to you on this next chapter of your life. Thanks for putting it all out there and sharing <3

Yes @mamaship! But truthfully, I’m a fair-weather runner so it may be a bit before I have miles to add. I’m in a running group where a runner did this last year, and I really like how she tracked it. Here’s a snapshot in case you want to track in a similar fashion. I thought it was such a good visual of the progress being made! Happy miles mamas!
